Tales of the Traveling Yogini, Interview with Aadil Palkhivala

by Stephanie on August 5, 2010

I am thrilled to introduce you to what is, right now, my favorite author who wrote an amazing book on yoga that has special segments for yoga teachers. Aadil Palkhivala explains here that “true yoga is not about the shape of your body, but the shape of our life.” This much sought after speaker has an exceptional center in Bellevue, Washington that I recently visited on my Yoga Road Trip.

Aadil and his wife are the founders of Purna Yoga, a holistic synthesis of yogic traditions based on the work of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother. Yoga Centers is one of the many accomplishments of this amazing man. In addition to his book, Fire of Love: For Students of Life and Teachers of Yoga, Aadil has also written three manuals used in his beginning, intermediate, and therapeutic teacher trainings.

I could go on and on about how Aadil is in the healing arts, has a bachelor’s degree in physics and math and has a degree in law. He has been the keynote speaker at the Body, Mind, and Spirit Symposiums, Yoga Journal Conferences and Omega Conferences.  I am sad that the quality of this video is below par. When I visited Yoga Centers last month, I was unable to meet with Aadil so he graciously agreed to a Skype interview. I promised him when I publish my book, I’m coming back through and am going to interview him in person so that you can experience him in a more deserving way.

With that said, though, please enjoy the following short segment with Aadil. Look for more of the interview in my upcoming book. ~ Namaste
