Yoga Road Trip – Day 20, Instruction with Bella Fleur

by Stephanie on June 13, 2010

I am thrilled to introduce you to Bella Fleur of Purna Yoga Centers in Bellevue, Washington. As we were making our way north and meeting incredible people in the yoga community, so many yogis and yoginis had told me this was the one center I must visit on my road trip. With so much hype and anticipation I was very curious about this center.

Bella was so loving and caring and her whole energy I was experiencing was supportive. In addition to her style and guidance, Yoga Centers had a unique wall system that I’m sharing with you a little here in these videos. In the class I took, we used many props for supported wall work including headstand and shoulder stand, unlike I had ever done before. I was very impressed with the level of knowledge Bella was sharing, all the while gently including heart centered philosophy. The one big thing I came away with was how truly supported I felt in only one class here. If I lived in the area, I would be thrilled to have this center as a place to practice.

Yoga Centers offers alignment-based asana, heart-centered meditation and healthy living practices. I have been explaining to friends who do not practice yoga that yoga is not just about asana. Purna yoga embodies, teaches and shares that yoga is a balanced healing system for the body, mind, emotions, and spirit. They also offer extensive teacher training.

The founders, Aadil Palkhivala and his wife Savitri, were not there the day we visited but I’m excited to tell you that I soon will interview Aadil. I am extremely interested in speaking with him. Look for that soon right here on this blog!

Thank you Stephanie, for a lovely, eloquent look into Purna Yoga. I ‘m in the Therapeuitcs teacher training this week and next; followed by a meditation immersion with Savitri for Purna Yoga instructors. I can tell you these trainings are a wonderful opportunity for anyone seeking to make changes in their lives <3
