Love the blog, and I wish you many blessings as you continue down this path of living with an open heart. It’s the only way to be, but unfortunately it takes some of us longer to get there. Thank you for providing a great example to follow.

One thing that I have noticed in center city Phladelphia, is the increase of the number of people I see carrying yoga mats. A couple of years ago, I saw someone carrying a yoga mat once in a while. Now it is like everytime that I am there I see at least one person carrying one. I even say to them “Is that a yoga mat?” Then when they say “yes” I say that I have been doing yoga since age 12!

    Hi Stephanie ,

Found your blog on the internets;) I am also a yogini and also just had acl surgery on may 31s. Thanks for your posts on your recovery, this is definitely a long hard road for me, I miss yoga and surfing and standup paddling and being able to run around after my little boy . But im starting to see little buts of improvement every day. If you want, let’s share asanas that we can do with our knee out of commission. So far I am liking boat , legs up the wall, savasana , and what is it called , seated pose with one bent leg and one straight leg up in the air… Good luck on your recovery

  9. June 26, 2012

So nice to meet you Nicole! I also surf and dive and miss running and cycling (and driving). My brace is still locked in the straight position (and I’m still on crutches six weeks after my surgery). I only take the brace off to do the “exercises” three times a day. I can’t wait to sleep without it. This week I’ve been doing Kundalini yoga so that I can still feel connected to my regular practice, which is much more physical. Check out Kundalini if you have not tried it before. My first love is Ashtanga but the older I get I appreciate all types. My favorite place to practice is on the beach two blocks away. I’ve also been doing boat pose but i’ve added Shoulder Stand and Fish for the heart opener. I am so grateful that I live yoga because this has been quite the challenge for me also and I don’t have a little one. How old is your son?

Hey! I just wanted to let you know that I am a huge fan of your blog & love what you do. l recently made a few videos that I absolutely love practicing yoga to. They were inspired by Carl Sagan & I thought it would be really cool if you checked it out and gave me your thoughts & insights on them. Also, I put music in the videos by Daniel Hope, after I found out that he was inspired by Carl Sagan too. Hope you like them & hope to hear back from you!

    Best,

    Brittany

    Hi Stephanie,

My name is Michael. I am from San Diego, CA and started a little project/business with one of my passions. The business is called Mantra Post. The product is a version of a yoga greeting card with watercolor art images of yoga postures. The process is to dedicate one’s yoga practice or meditation to someone with a personal mantra and mail off the energy they cultivated to the recipient. Check out my site: mantrapost.com

I am looking for any suggestions to get the word out for what I am doing. Any comments or feedback would be greatly appreciated!

    Regards,
    Michael

    Stephanie,

I wanted to reach out to you, because I was talking to my yoga teacher here in NYC about a project I am working on… She thought other yoga bloggers would be really interested in hearing about it.

“This Light Shines” is centered around the Buddhist belief in rebirth – such that our energy is carried forward and we are considered to be an endless energy passing from one to the next, much like the flame of a candle lighting another. The flame transfers, but the new flame carries its own identity.

If you are interested in the project I would love to talk more. There is a short video on the project homepage that explains it all in better detail: http://igg.me/at/thislightshines

    Namaste.
    Happy 2014,
    LUKE

    Hi Stephanie:

My name is Martha Logan and I am writing to some of the Top 75 Yoga and Pilates Websites as endorsed by Marc David (congratulations on this impressive designation in 2013 and in 2012). I am doing so because I just started working with Mary O’Malley as her publicist. Mary is an author and Awakening Teacher in Kirkland, Washington. You may know Mary as one of the presenters at Marc David’s Eating Psychology Conference in August 2013. Mary’s book, The Gift of Our Compulsions, is required reading for all of Marc’s students. Like you, Mary won a Marc David award for the 35 Best Psychology Websites.

I am not only Mary’s publicist, but I am also one of her students. My five-year journey with Mary has been amazing, as her teachings have brought me personally from a place of struggle, pain and sadness (primarily due the decline of my parents’ as a result of Alzheimer’s Disease) to a place of ease and joy. For me, my focus on mindful and healthy eating, combined with my yoga practice and my “consciousness work” with Mary has resulted in an amazing “Opening to Life”. For that reason, I decided to work with her to help spread her message, and I have found that yoga teachers and wellness coaches are a wonderful resource for this type of work.

Mary has just published a new edition of her latest book, “What’s In the Way IS the Way”. I am writing because I would like to send you a copy of her book. In return, I would just ask that if the book resonates with you, that you write about it on your website. Although this book is valuable for anyone, I especially think it is helpful for those who are just starting out on the path of “conscious living” because it is easy to read and not so esoteric like some of the books in this genre. Also, Mary would be honored to send you one of her inspirational articles for publication on your website, if you are open to a guest post.

I hope you are interested in receiving Mary’s book, and I look forward to hearing from you (I will need your address if you take me up on my offer). Thank you for doing your part to heal our planet.

    Martha

thank you Martha. i have sent you an email. i am so happy that you are awake and on your amazing healthy journey. a place of “ease and joy” is a wonderful accomplishment. the title of her new book is something i speak about often – “what’s in the way IS the way” // sounds like an interesting book.
